A Birth Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labour, and the early postpartum. We walk alongside you and your chosen support person, helping you prepare for birth with confidence and clarity, and offering grounded support when you need it most.

The Evidence is Clear
Research consistently shows that continuous support from a doula is associated with improved birth outcomes. Studies have found that people supported by a birth doula are more likely to have shorter labours, lower rates of medical interventions (including cesarean births), and a more positive birth experience overall. They are also less likely to require pain medication and more likely to initiate breastfeeding successfully (Bohren MA, Hofmeyr GJ, Sakala C, Fukuzawa RK, Cuthbert A. What We Don’t Do:
- Perform clinical or medical tasks (like cervical checks or monitoring)
- Make decisions for you or replace your care provider
- Speak on your behalf without your invitation or consent
